Andrew Draper has benchmarked innovative food, memorable events and fine dining in Durban for over twenty years and in doing so has created mouth-watering experiences for every conceivable occasion. 

Offering everything from unique designer menus featuring exquisite food selections and tastes, to bespoke events from beach weddings, picnics, product launches, birthdays to remember whilst offering the services of complete event management, including event designing, floral designing, hiring and decor, beverages, front of house managers and waiters.  Andrew has managed the finest events in KZN and is the preferred supplier to blue chip corporate, key annual social functions and personal events

“I am the last born of a large generous family. I grew up under the apron of a woman who entertained.  Who had tables groaning with unlimited food, for a relentless army of friends and family. My parent’s abundance of generosity showed on their table. Love was shared in the form of loud, very loud, laughter and spoonful’s of creamy crème caramel, the crispiest bacon and the richest chocolate mousse. I was smitten. I knew what I wanted to do when I grow up. I wanted to create and share peoples most beautiful and special days. To be surrounded by large tables of happiness. It has been an incredibly rewarding career.

I’m passionate about what I do, and who I create it for, striving to stand behind my ethos of, ‘My pride is on the plate’. I like to create comfortable, innovative, food combinations, mixed with classical food elements with an inventive, clean twist.

Adaptability is my strongest asset; along with an ‘everything has a solution’ and ’the customer must always have what they want’ attitude has built my reputation over the years. I have created a state of the art kitchen and a dedicated team, making every effort to accommodate you in creating a culinary experience which is international and personal and sticking within your budgets that both pushes and inspires me. This ‘out-the-box’ approach is welcomed by friends, family and corporate clients by maximising your brand exposure through different food service concepts such as interactive food stations, picnic baskets, cooking demonstrations, crayfish barbecue’s on the beach, gala dinners and the list goes on.”

I have been very fortunate to have received multiple awards for both myself and my previous restaurants. Years of consistent dedication has awarded me a reputation, which I hold dear in the fact that it instils a confidence and trust with my clients, that I will deliver food and service of the highest standards.

Over the years I have had the opportunity to cook for many famous people and have had them as guests, or catered for them. Cooking for large political events such as NAM, BRIK and Commonwealth dinners has been exciting.... so here are a few splattering of local and international celebrities

Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela (he sent flowers the next day and we are in awe of the incredible man),Jacob Gedleyihlekisa Zuma, Julius Sello Malema, Obed Ndlaba, Bheki Cele (we did his prestigious wedding) Premier Senzo Mchunu of Natal, Bishop Desmond Tutu,  Premier Helen Zille, and all the presidents that attended the NAM and Commonwealth conferences.
